The main challenges of this project were a sunken terrain and a low budget.

We used metal structures, a prefab system and alternative finishes. While the first story – below street level – had a small apartment, the second story – with direct access from the street – had a couple of stores. 

Artífice has a tropical, yet cozy aesthetic. It is enhanced by its immediate environment and material choices. Passive strategies (sustainable design) were used to appease the heat of the Costa Rican Pacific zone.
